New year picknick in the park (a la Georges Seurat)

Georges Seurat is a master of pointillism - a painting technique where patterns of small dots are used to form an image.

We just loved both Seurat's painting and his style. But when Alex started drawing only than we realized, it is a lot of dots and 80x50 cm canvas might have not been the best choice :)

Anyway after almost 6 months of coming and going it is finally ready:

The Artist

Georges Seurat - French painter, who lived and worked at the end of 19th century. "Good die young" - Seurat died of unknown illness as he was 31 years old. Seurat's mission was to study painting with a scientific precision to find a better way to find harmony. I believe he almost did:

A lot of dots:

The process: New year picknick in the park

There are only two thing which can describe working process this time: long and dots :)

Anyway, it was worth it and a very interesting experience, I think every artist should try it sooner or later.

Guten Rutsch and keep your loved ones close and happy.
